Teacher Effectiveness- from watching "Revolution in the Classroom" Student-Teacher Relationships were seen as important, a presence of leadership is required around the school, students feel comfortable to approach teachers if there is a good relationship, students must know the consequences and clear expectation, team teaching and to get feedback, Professional Development coach was what was implemented in Knox school- we thought this was a valuable tool. Get rid of teachers that are not good and you would improve if some is coming in once a week.
Student Achievement- push the students, encourage the students to be a critical thinkers, develop the desire to learn, Students had a mentor and motivate the students internally, motivate the students that education is important
Engagement in a contemporary learning environment- central focus is teacher quality, Teacher- student relationships,
Student Performance Analyser:
Most students have shown an improvement in their NAPLAN data from Yr 7 to Yr 9. Problems seem to be with punctuation and grammar and spelling.
Literacy should be a whole school approach and not just the responsibility of English teachers.
